The PHO

Turanganui PHO is made up of six Gisborne general practices and one Maori health organisation.

Each of the general practices and the Maori health organisation, provide a range of care. They see people when they are sick, and keep people well by offering general and specific health checks and services, many of which are free.

Around 32,500 patients are enrolled with Turanganui PHO of which around 18,000 are European, 11,000 are Maori, 500 are Pacific and 2,200 are recorded as Other.

We are governed by a Board and headed by our CEO Keriana Brooking.

We are owned by Maori health provider Turanga Health, and Pinnacle; a management organisation providing clinical and administration services to us and our general practices.

We are one of 90 or so Primary Health Organisations or PHOs in New Zealand.
