Turanganui PHO Chief Executive Keriana Brooking, Ngati Kahungunu, was awarded a  Sir Peter Blake Emerging Leader Award in 2008.

She has been CEO since the organisation started in 2003. Her role involves:

 

• managing the implementation of New Zealand's Primary Health Care Strategy

• design and implementation of clinical and non-clinical primary care services and,

• relationship management.

Her other commitments include:

• Recently retired Chair of Primary Health Organisation New Zealand or PHONZ (2006-2009)

• Campion College Board of Trustees

• Community Action Youth and Drugs (CAYAD) Governance Group

Keriana has completed a Masters of Public Management through Victoria University. As well as a successful career woman, Keriana leads an active lifestyle and if often found in her local gym, or pounding the pavements. She is married to Jack and they have a son Te Aho.
